No More Misuse

The Advisory Council on the Misuse of Drugs, a self-perpetuating oligarchy of pro-drugs activists who are able to prevent the publication of academic dissent from their public policy agenda, should be abolished forthwith. And let the fightback begin in earnest. Election of the BBC Trust by the license-payers. Election of the Human Fertilisation and Embryology Authority by the nation at large. A serious look at why we need a Law Commission when we have a Parliament for it to tell what to do, and who should be on it if we do need it. Just for a start. Oh, yes. Let the fightback begin.

    And the Drink Industrys influence on politicians?
    Stringent and ENFORCED legislation on drunken behaviour, zero levels for Drinking (and Drug induced) Driving.
    No politician of any hue brave enough to do it!

    I'm not so sure. I think that a zero driving limit, for example, is emerging anyway. Give it 10 or 15 years and it will legislated for on the old, deeply flawed but sometimes useful premise that "that's how people behave in practice".

    Always a Fabian and a Christian Socailist, it seems. The Fabian Society and the Christian Socialist Movement both continue to send me their material, even though I haven't paid a subscription to either for several years.
