Sutch Like

Mark Mason jokes in this week's Spectator that pedestrian lanes on pavements, the outer lane for fast movers and the inner lane for window-shoppers, have once been in a party's General Election manifesto, but that that party was the Monster Raving Loony Party. People also laughed, and were supposed to, when that party proposed, as it was the first to do, commercial radio and the lowering of the voting age to 18. Think on.

  1. Sutch also proposed, in that first manifesto, the abolition of the 11+ and passports for pets, both of which have come to pass

  2. It used to be, at least in New York, that pedestrians organized themselves in this way spontaneously. No longer.
