Now, I am not saying that the events in Northern Ireland on 12th July are not news, or would not be news even if no violence attended them. But how many people participate in them?
There were at least 120,000 people at yesterday's Durham Miners' Gala, and probably 150,000. No violence ever attends it.
How is that not news, whereas the Orange Parades are? I really would like to know.
