Theresa May professes to abhor huge disparities in pay, and to wish to do something about them.
Today would have been a very good for her to have set out her practical proposals to that end.
Holding her to this commitment is a job for a robustly left-wing Leader of the Labour Party.
Thankfully, there already is one.
